National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) executive director Victorino Manalo lauds the City Government of Muntinlupa for being the first local government unit to turn-over archival records of local important events to the agency.
Manalo witnessed the turn-over ceremony of the records of Muntinlupa Centennial Celebration and its entry to the collection of NAP last April 13 at Bellevue Hotel, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
“You have bestowed on the National Archives a treasure that will definitely enrich its collection. We hope this action will also serve as an example to other local archives,” he added.
The NAP is set to forge a partnership with the City Government of Muntinlupa for records management and archives administration.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi says the local government will be committed in working with the NAP to advance records management as a tool for transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance.
Muntinlupa Centennial-related documents are also set to be turned over to the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
Attending the ceremony were Congressman Ruffy Biazon, Muntinlupa Centennial Commission chairman Engr. Allan Cachuela, former Muntinlupa Mayor Ignacio “Toting” Bunye, former Congressman Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon, local officials, partners in the private sector and non-government organizations, among others.
Muntinlupa commemorated its 100th Founding Anniversary on December 19, 2017.
