FRESNEDI INAUGURATES MUNTI LGU ENGINEERING COLLEGE, CLASSES START ON AUG 6

STATE-OF-THE-ART MUNTI ENGG SCHOOL: Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi (inset) leads the inauguration of the Colegio de Muntinlupa, an engineering school funded by the local government and envisioned to be the Premier Local Institution for Engineering in the country, last August 3 at Posadas Avenue, Brgy. The P208-M state-of-the-art four-storey CDM Building 1 houses nine classrooms, two computer laboratories, one Engineering Drawing Room, one Physics Laboratory, one Chemistry Laboratory and one Library. The building is tagged as a “Green Building” to be powered by solar panels and equipped with Rainwater Collection Technology, Sunbreakers, and Windbreaker architectural features. Joining Fresnedi in the opening ceremony were Congressman Ruffy Biazon, CDM Board Member Chito Borromeo, and local officials from the City Government of Muntinlupa.

 

Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi inaugurated the first constructed building of the local government’s engineering school Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM), envisioned to be the Premier Local Institution for Engineering in the country, located at Posadas Avenue, Sucat, Muntinlupa City.

The P208-M four-storey college building is tagged as a “Green Building” to be powered by solar panels and equipped with Rainwater Collection Technology, Sunbreakers, and Windbreaker architectural features.

The state-of-the-art CDM Building 1 houses nine classrooms, two computer laboratories, one Engineering Drawing Room, one Physics Laboratory, one Chemistry Laboratory and one Library.

While construction is still on-going for the other school facilities, CDM will start classes and hold its first flag raising ceremony on August 6. Students will be given free ride to and from CDM grounds.

Muntinlupa residents enrolled in the college benefit from scholarship subsidy provided by the local government. Full tuition fee discount is offered to CDM’s Top 50 students and partial scholarship with 50% discount for Top 51-150 admission test passers.

CDM offers BS Civil Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Electronics Engineering, and BS Mechanical Engineering. Non-Muntinlupa residents can also apply in CDM.

CDM College Administrator and former DOST-NCR regional director Dr. Teresita Fortuna said the institution will provide top-notch education on science & technology from highly-esteemed faculty and integrated training with top-of-the-line industrial equipment.

Some of the members of the faculty who will be teaching at CDM are National Academy of Science and Technology’s Outstanding Young Scientist Dr. Nathaniel Hermosa, 2014 Civil Engineering Licensure Exam Topnotcher Harvey Malolos, professors from private and state universities, among others.

Joining Fresnedi in the opening ceremony were Congressman Ruffy Biazon, CDM Board Member Chito Borromeo, and local officials from the City Government of Muntinlupa.
