Muntinlupa City Government satellite offices situated in Starmall Alabang temporarily halt operations following the fire incident in the shopping mall last January 8.
The local government of Muntinlupa has released an advisory to the public that the following offices that were affected by the fire incident will temporarily stop its operations starting January 10:
- Muntinlupa Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO)
- Muntinlupa Muslim Affairs Office (MCMAO)
- Business Permits and Licensing Office – Satellite Office
- National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) – Satellite Office
BPLO Muntinlupa said the issuance of Occupational Permit and Health Certificate will be suspended while the offices of MCMAO and PDAO will be closed until further notice.
NBI Starmall Alabang Muntinlupa Satellite Office advised the public that they may also process their NBI Clearance at NBI Main Office Manila.
“Manatiling nakaantabay sa aming Facebook page para sa susunod na advisory o maaari po kayong tumuloy sa NBI Main Office Manila upang magproseso ng NBI Clearance o yung mga pinabalik dahil na HIT sa Releasing Section,” NBI Muntinlupa Satellite Office posted in its Facebook page.
Further, the Muntinlupa Traffic Management Bureau (MTMB) has advised the public that they will resume office transactions on January 12, 8:00AM to 5:00PM at Bayanan Baywalk Covered Court.
Last January 8, a fire hit Starmall Alabang with the first alarm raised by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Muntinlupa at 3:40 a.m. The fire incident was raised to Task Force Alpha at 7:46 a.m. and was declared fire out at 12:21 p.m. on Jan. 9.
The fire suppression in the shopping mall took almost 33 hours. The estimated total damage is at 100 million pesos and no casualties were reported in the incident.
“After almost 33 hours of firefighting operation of combined forces from the BFP firefighters, barangay and private volunteers from the different cities of NCR, the Task Force Alpha Fire Incident in Starmall Alabang was declared fire out at exactly 1221H 09 January 2022 at by the City Fire Director of Muntinlupa CFS FSupt. Roberto D. Samillano Jr.,” the Muntinlupa City Fire Station posted in its Facebook page.
BFP Muntinlupa extended its thanks to those who have helped in the fire operation including the Starmall Alabang management, City Government of Muntinlupa, Zero One Security group, and other volunteers.
The local government through the Social Service Department has also provided hot meals to the firemen and volunteers during the incident.
