Muntinupa is one of three cities in NCR to pass DILG Good Financial Housekeeping

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) lauds Muntinlupa’s outstanding financial management after hailing the city as one of the three Good Financial Housekeeping passers in the region.

DILG Muntinlupa Field Office director Bernadette Ferino congratulated Mayor Jaime Fresnedi for qualifying in the CY 2021 Good Financial Housekeeping (GFH) of the agency.

Muntinlupa is one of the three (3) local government units in the National Capital Region who passed the CY 2021 GFH. Other passers in Metro Manila include Las Piñas City and Makati City.

The criteria for passing the GFH was based on the most recent available COA Audit Opinion (should be Unqualified or Qualified for CYs 2019 or 2020).

The GFH also covered the compliance of LGUs with the Full Disclosure Policy posting of its financial documents in three (3) conspicuous places within the City and in the FDP Portal for all quarters of CY 2020 and the first quarter of CY 2021.

Mayor Fresnedi extended his thanks to DILG for recognizing the initiatives of the city towards good governance in the area of finances and says that the recognition will serve as an inspiration to provide better service to Muntinlupeños.

Recently, the DILG also applauded Muntinlupa’s efforts on river clean-up drives and other local initiatives as part of the Manila Bay Clean-Up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Program (MBCRPP).

Muntinlupa Environmental Sanitation Center head Lorna Misa presented the city’s awards to Mayor Jaime Fresnedi during a courtesy call of the local environmental council last December 21.

The local government has been recognized as one of the highly compliant LGUs in the implementation of the MCBRPP garnering a total score of 91.50% and ranking 4th place in the National Capital Region (NCR). The results were released after the LGU Compliance Assessment held last December 6.

Muntinlupa City was also recognized as Top Performer in the Informal Settler Families (ISF) Category and Information Education and Communication and Institutional Arrangements (IEC-AC) Category in the said program.

The Manila Bay Task Force was awarded on December 17 at the Manila Hotel.

In 2018, the city was also adjudged the Top Performing LGU for the MBCRPP Annual Exit Conference and Rank 2 for the Regional Assessment of LGU Compliance to the MBCRPP (Q3 2017 – Q2 2018).

While in 2016, Muntinlupa received a citation for the program from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources.
