DOH lauds Muntinlupa’s vax initiatives, LGU reaches daily target for “Bayanihan, Bakunahan”

The Department of Health (DOH) lauds the initiatives of the local government of Muntinlupa on vaccinating its constituents and its assistance to other LGUs as part of the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” National Vaccination Days.

Members of the Regional Task Force on COVID-19 Vaccination and officials from DOH visited Muntinlupa for a ceremonial inoculation event and turn-over of 1,000 hygiene kits from Redscope last December 1.

During the program, DOH Usec. Dr. Lilibeth David recognized the efforts of the Muntinlupa City Government on vaccination and for the deployment of a team to help in the local vaccination operations of Cabuyao, Laguna.

The Muntinlupa vaccination team deployed in Cabuyao has inoculated more than 1,000 residents on the first day of the campaign rollout.

Recently, NTF Against COVID-19 medical consultant Dr. Ma. Paz Corrales and Cabuyao City Health Officer Dr. Elena Diamante also extended their thanks to Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and the city government for its assistance.

Other officials joining the ceremonial event were Congressman Ruffy Biazon, DOH-NCR regional director Dr. Gloria J. Balboa, DILG Asec. Frank Cruz, Coun. Allan Camilon, and Muntinlupa City Health Officer Dr. Juancho Bunyi.

Further, Muntinlupa has reached its daily target for the three-day national immunization campaign recording a total 22,307 individuals to have been vaccinated as of December 1.

Of the total, 6,755 were vaccinated last December 1, at least 8,265 individuals were inoculated last November 30, while 7,287 were vaccinated last November 29.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi continues to urge unvaccinated Muntinlupeños to register thru the Muntinlupa COVID-19 Vaccination (MunCoVac) Program and be protected against the virus. Fresnedi also advised the public to continue observing the minimum public health protocols.  

The National COVID-19 Vaccination Days campaign is launched by the Department of Health (DOH) to ramp up the COVID-19 vaccination coverage and mobilize stakeholders from every sector to support the national government’s goal of giving Filipinos a safe and healthy Christmas.

Meanwhile, the city also recorded a dip in active cases with only 31 cases as of December 1. By barangay, Tunasan has 1 active case, Poblacion has 13 cases, Bayanan has 1 case, Alabang has 6 cases, Ayala Alabang has 4 cases, Buli has 1 case, and Sucat has 4 cases. While Brgy. Putatan has logged zero cases since November 29.

To date, Muntinlupa has 27,565 confirmed cases, 26,956 recoveries, 578 reported deaths, 16 suspect cases, and 290 probable cases.
