Metro Manila Development Authority chairman Benhur Abalos visited one of Muntinlupa’s vaccination sites at Ayala Malls South Park, Alabang together with Mayor Jaime Fresnedi last August 6, the first day of the implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila.
Chairman Abalos lauded the vaccination site management of the local government of Muntinlupa and noted that health protocols are observed. “Maganda ang pagbabakuna sa Muntinlupa, may mga upuan at nasusunod ang physical distancing,” Abalos said.
The MMDA chairman added that the public shouldn’t flock to the vaccination sites as LGUs implement systems to ensure the orderly conduct of the vaccination program and the compliance of minimum health standards.
He urged the public to coordinate with their LGU and refrain from sharing and consuming fake news.
The Muntinlupa City COVID-19 Vaccination Program (MunCoVac) earlier announced that walk-ins will not be accommodated in the city’s local vaccination sites during ECQ, except for senior citizens.
“Para sa kaligtasan ng lahat lalo ngayong ECQ, hindi po pinapayagan ang walk-in sa lahat ng vaccination sites sa Muntinlupa, maliban kung senior citizen na i-accommodate sa priority lanes,” MunCoVac posted in its Facebook page.
The local government of Muntinlupa discourages those who do not have a confirmed vaccination schedule from MunCoVac to refrain from proceeding to the vaccination sites.
City residents are urged to register online through the city’s COVID-19 vaccination registration system via www.vaccine.muntinlupacity.gov.ph/muncovac to be scheduled.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi encouraged the public to avail the vaccination service of the local government especially during the ECQ for them to have an added protection against the adverse effects of COVID-19.
Further, the local exec also advised Muntinlupa residents to only source information from reliable news agencies and official social media sites from the government.
As of August 4, there are 326,157 vaccines deployed in Muntinlupa, of which 189,907 are first dose (49.2% of the target) and 140,568 are second dose (36.4% of the target).
MunCoVac earlier clarified that city residents who are scheduled for vaccination during the ECQ will be allowed to go out of their residence and will be considered as Authorized Persons Outside of Residence (APOR).
Individuals with vaccination schedule will only need to present their Valid ID and the text message from MunCoVac in local checkpoints. For senior citizens, they will only need to present their OSCA ID or other documents with their Muntinlupa address.
Recently, the Muntinlupa City Council passed Ordinance No. 2021-258 expanding the list of APOR during the ECQ to include persons with confirmed vaccination scheduled from MunCoVac and those who will register in the vaccination center nearest their residence within their respective barangays.
Majority Floor Leader Coun. Raul Corro said the initiative aims to assist in the thrust of the local government to achieve maximum vaccination of the targeted population during the ECQ.
To coordinate concerns regarding vaccine registration, the public may reach MunCoVac hotlines that are open from Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM: 0960-588-5935 / 0960-588-5937 / 0998-249-4580 / 0956-358-9228 / 0915-805-5932.
