MUNTI SENDS 3,417 RELIEF PACKS TO EIGHT EVAC AREAS IN BATANGAS FOLLOWING FINANCIAL AID

MUNTI SENDS RELIEF GOODS TO BATANGAS: Mayor Jaime Fresnedi inspects relief packs to be distributed to victims of the Taal Volcano eruption situated in several evacuation centers. Muntinlupa City Government provided relief packs in the cities and municipalities of Calaca, Alfonso, Nasugbu, Batangas, Bauan, San Pascual, Balayan, and Sto. Tomas last January 15. The local government of Muntinlupa is closely coordinating with Region IV-A officials in providing services to affected LGUs.


Following its donation of P3 million to three Batangas towns, the City Government of Muntinlupa sends more than 3,000 relief packs to victims of the Taal Volcano eruption situated in several evacuation centers.

Muntinlupa Social Services Department head Analyn Mercado said the local government initially sent at least 3,417 grocery packs and 381 six-liter bottles of water to evacuation centers in coordination with Batangas Incident Command Post in Fernando Air Base, Lipa City last January 15.

Muntinlupa City Government provided relief packs in the cities and municipalities of Calaca, Alfonso, Nasugbu, Batangas, Bauan, San Pascual, Balayan, and Sto. Tomas.

Relief packs given to evacuees include canned goods, water, rice, sleeping mats, utensils, clothes, and other non-food items. Mercado added that an additional 300 sacks of rice and another 2,828 six-liter bottles of water will be distributed to the evacuees in the following days.

The City Government of Muntinlupa is still accepting any kind of donations at Muntinlupa Resiliency Building (Hall of Justice Compound) in Brgy. Tunasan or Annex Building, Muntinlupa City Hall.

On January 14, Mayor Jaime Fresnedi endorsed the proposed 3 Million Pesos (Php 3,000,000.00) donation for Municipality of Talisay, Laurel & Agoncillo, Batangas as aide for the victims of Taal Volcano eruption for their recovery and rehabilitation. The City Council enacted and approved an ordinance for the financial aid.

Muntinlupa City also mobilized a rescue team including health workers and emergency services staff to Talisay, Batangas to assist in the rescue and relief operations.

The local government of Muntinlupa is closely coordinating with Region IV-A officials in providing services to affected cities and municipalities.
