A premier Office of the CITY GOVERNMENT OF MUNTINLUPA (CGM) with dependable and efficient staff, committed to serve as Central Depository of all archival records of public documents generated by the different City departments and offices and make it accessible to them, as well as to the people from all walks of life.
The RECORDS MANAGEMENT OFFICE (RMO) shall provide an economical and efficient Records Management Services to meet the information needs of all the City Government Offices (CGO), as well as, of its citizenry.
The RMO shall serve as the official storage of all non-current public records of the CGM. Towards this end, it shall be responsible for planning, prescribing, disseminating and enforcing policies, rules and regulations as provided by the provisions of Republic Act No. 9470, otherwise known as “The National Archives of the Philippines Act of 2007 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations which took effect on May 21, 2007 and January 24, 2008, respectively.
- Take custody and provide storage for all permanent and inactive City Government Records for the duration of their established retention period in conformity with “2011 General Records Disposition Schedule (Common to Local Government Units)” issued by the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP) on December 19, 2011 and the “Local Records Disposition Schedule LRDS)”, Series of 2016” formulated by the MUNTINLUPA CITY RECORDS MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE (MCRMIC) and approved recently by the honorable City Mayor of CGM, ATTY. JAIME R. FRESNEDI, and submitted to the NAP for concurrence.
- Undertake and institute a continuing “Public Records Management and Archives Administration Program” that would establish and update the retention periods for all city records;
- Provide for the disposition of all records that are of no further value for daily operations of CGO's concerned, thereby clearing their respective offices and valuable storage spaces for other uses; and
- Facilitate the acquisition of a permanent and suitable building to house the City’s archival holdings and public records to ensure its preservation and conservation.
