In its commitment to improve public’s access to the government and bringing services closer to communities, the city government of Muntinlupa expands with the opening of Plaza Central in Poblacion.

Mayor Jaime Fresnedi and other local government officials led the inauguration of Muntinlupa City Hall’s three-storey extension building amounting to P101.5 million last October 6.

Plaza Central will be housing the Cultural and Tourism Development Office, Muntinlupa Scholarship Program Office, Joint Resources Financing Program Office (Dagdag Puhunan), City Library, Public Order and Safety Office (POSO), Boy Scout of the Philippines Muntinlupa Chapter, and Colegio de Muntinlupa extension office.

The area where Plaza Central stands used to be the site of Muntinlupa’s old municipal hall (Contessa Building). Living up to its name, the area has been the convergence for the people of Muntinlupa.

The local exec vows to continue developing avenues in creating LGU programs more accessible for the public.

“The city government wants everyone to have access in our services as we are the government of the people and for the people,” Fresnedi said in the inauguration ceremony.

To date, Muntinlupa is home to the following national agencies’ extension offices: National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Statistics Office, COMELEC in Starmall Alabang and Department of Foreign Affairs – South in Metro Gaisano Mall.

Some satellite offices will be transferring and be locating to Ayala Malls South Park including Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).

Muntinlupa city government will soon open other infrastructure projects which include: “baklad-inpired” Muntinlupa Museum in Tunasan, Colegio de Muntinlupa (higher learning institute for engineering, science and technology) in Sucat, Cupang Senior High School, new Muntinlupa City Public Market and Liwasan ng mga Bayani (Freedom Park) in Alabang.
