Good news for JO workers in Muntinlupa LGU!
Through the KaltaSSS-Collect Program, 2,300 estimated contractual and job-order (JO) personnel working in the City Government of Muntinlupa shall soon be covered by Social Security System (SSS) benefits.
Muntinlupa local government unit (LGU) inked partnership with the SSS for the coverage of its contractual and job-order personnel who are not under the GSIS Law by requiring them to register as SSS self-employed members.
Upon registration, job-order and contractual personnel can have access to SSS financial assistance benefits during times of maternity, sickness, disability, retirement or old age, and death.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with SSS NCR South Division head Cristine Grace Francisco last February 7 at Muntinlupa City Hall, Putatan.
Through the MOA, Muntinlupa LGU shall facilitate the collection of monthly contribution from the salaries and wages of its Job Order personnel based on the approved monthly contribution until the personnel’s resignation or termination of service contract.
“The City Government is committed in providing equal opportunity for all personnel, especially those working in contractual or job-order positions to enjoy the benefits of social security,” Fresnedi said.
Also witnessing the ceremony were Muntinlupa City Administrator Allan Cachuela, SSS Alabang Branch head Esmeralda Garcia, and other local officials.
Muntinlupa City Human Resource and Development Officer Atty. Erick Tagnia said that casual and plantilla (permanent) position holders will also be encouraged to participate in the program as Voluntary members.
Tagnia added that the CHRMD will conduct an orientation for the JO workers regarding the implementation of the program.
The MOA is pursuant to Social Security Commission Resolution No. 171-s.2014.
